I thought with all of the seniors and "back to school" sessions I have been doing lately, now would be the perfect time to announce my big news! Southern Exposure Photography is going back to school!... sort of... I received my Bachelor's Degree from Athens State University in 2007. In my senior portfolio class, my instructor gave us the assignment to write a "5 year plan". Part of my 5 year plan included becoming PPA (Professional Photographer's of America) certified. This is sort of like when you hear people say their accountant is a CPA. It's a test that photographer's take (there's two parts: a written exam and after you pass that, an image submission portion. This part of my five year plan has taken me 10 years to even start. (I had a surprise that was not written into my five year plan, his name is Lee and he's 9 years old now). I wouldn't change these past 10 years for the world, but now that Lee is getting older, it's time to get focused back on my goals in my photography business! SO - the first major part of that for me is putting it out there that I'm even trying to do this! My written test is going to be September 9. It's been SO long since I've had to study for anything so I'm kind of struggling with staying focused, but I believe nothing but good can come from this new adventure! Below is a link to the PPA website describing what a CPP is, if you're interested in knowing more :)
