I’ve been kind of quiet about the coronavirus and business – mainly because up until now I’ve been busy! Thank goodness I got my Easter sessions done! I’ve had several newborns lately, engagements, families, real estate, but now… just this week I have had to cancel/reschedule a newborn, a family, a wedding, and my camera class… I’m officially “shut down” until the Governor says it’s ok to get back to life again. My print lab (and my back up lab) are both under shelter in place orders – so I was already going to have to make some decisions regarding whether to keep shooting, but have orders delayed – or stop shooting until they opened back up, but the Government made that decision for me now.
I think the thing that’s the worst about this whole thing is that so many people have time off together now, but we can’t visit each other! Plus, this weather has been SO nice lately! This is normally the start of my busy season with Easter/Spring and seniors – as it is right now, my 2020 seniors don’t even officially know if they will be able to have a graduation ceremony (so we can’t order invitations until we know)! As most of you know, I spent all of last year juggling caring for my dad and my photography business, so I’m not as upset about this as I would have been a few years ago. I have neglected a lot of things over this past year (both in my personal and my business life), so I’ve got enough “projects” to keep me busy for the rest of the year (but let’s hope it doesn’t last that long!). My mom and I have already started sorting out our storage shed and I want to go through all of my props and backdrops, I’ve got memory cards to clean off, paperwork to catch up on, and that’s just business stuff – I’ve got a ton of personal projects at home to keep me busy plus, I’m homeschooling (just like the rest of Alabama) for the rest of the school year.
One of the positives of this (besides extra time on our hands) is that everyone is in this together – it’s not just something Alabama is experiencing – the entire world is going through the same thing. One of the things I do miss the most is my church! We are doing live streaming, but it’s not the same! I’m going to try to start doing more blogging as I catch up on things, so if you have any ideas you’d like to see me talk about, let me know!
In the meantime, here are some pictures from around my house. As it turns out, I HAVE to be photographing something! My soul can’t take not picking the camera up!
