I wanted to do a quick blog post because I've got so many cool props and things from local businesses lately, so I wanted to share the love and spread the word on the cool things they all have. Each of them are individually owned and right here locally! My little model is sweet Emery - she was 7 days old yesterday when we took these! She was the best little baby and as you can see - an absolute doll! Her mom pretty much told me to just go with whatever I wanted using props and clothing that I have (be looking for another post on that later!) - which tickled me! When a photographer first starts out learning photography - and especially if you attend college for your degree, you think you are an artist... making a living from photography however, is a different story - so when a client lets me "play" it makes my day!
In the first picture is a backdrop (it's actually metal ceiling tiles) that I got from Bargain Jungle in Athens, AL. The tiles were 2' x 2' and my husband and I just built a support for them! The chair in that same picture I got from Amy's Antiques. I am obsessed with cool, old chairs!!
In the second picture, I got the Coca-Cola crate from Dog Day Flear Market in Ardmore, Tennessee. I've been wanting one for a long time, but the price can be pretty outrageous sometimes (this one I was willing to pay what they were asking!) and the antique wooden spools I bought at Bargain Jungle when I bought my ceiling tiles!
In the last picture, the little lace doily was purchased from Southern Trends in Huntsville, AL. It is the cutest little store with everything from homemade jam to antiques! Vendors rent booths there so there is always something new to see!
Go check out some of these local businesses when you get the chance and tell them Southern Exposure Photography sent you!
