I hope this finds everyone doing great! I have missed photography SO much this past month – actually, I guess I should say I have missed my clients so much because I’m still shooting whatever I can find around my house
I’m officially back open! The PPA (Professional Photographers of America) has sent out some safety guidelines, which are along the same guidelines that the CDC recommends.
- No groups bigger than 10 at any session
- If you are feeling sick or running a fever, please call to reschedule
- I will be doing one client at a time so that I can sanitize between each client (so I won’t be doing “mini sessions” for awhile.
I was so disappointed earlier tonight looking at my calendar and having to mark out all the upcoming min sessions I had planned. At the beginning of the year I had sat down with my calendar and planned out my entire year! I was so excited that this was going to be the first year in a long time where I could just focus on my business! (Ha! We see how that is turning out! 2020 has been anything but “normal”!) It’s ok though because the years have taught me to readjust my plan as many times as needed and just always try to follow God’s plan!
As most of you know, my dad passed away in November and especially since then photographs have meant SO much more to me. The saying is true “You never know how much a photograph means until it’s all you have left” – then, when this Covid-19 came up, a lot of people have passed on, families in hospitals and nursing homes that you can’t even visit – it is all just absolutely heartbreaking! So here is your reminder that when we CAN start getting out again, book that family session! I’m the world’s worst about “hating” how I look (I’m trying to work on that), but I can tell you 100% you are your own worst critic! One day, when all that is left are the memories (and photographs!) you want to make sure you have a photograph that is going to last (and isn’t just a memory stored on Facebook – which will probably be “out of style” 20 years from now!)
Last, I wanted to share some things that have been going on in my personal life this month: My son is finished with home school! We both realized during all this that we are not disciplined enough to do this if we didn’t have to! I’ve also got more baby chicks (I LOVE chickens!) I’ve canned some homemade strawberry jam, started the garden (somewhat – I’m far from finished!), my cousin Emily had a drive-by graduation celebration, and all in all I’ve just realized what a homebody I really am! I think I could “social distance” for the rest of the year and still not get everything on my “to do” list done! Oh! One major thing in my studio I was able to get done since the “shut down” is organizing and taking inventory of all my backdrops. I gave a lot of them to another photographer, but I still ended up with 64 backdrops!
Give me a call (or text or email) to schedule your session!
